Burnout 2 Movie [ Acclaim ]

3DO has announced that if the baseball players do strike, then they will simulate the rest of the season using their High Heat Baseball game. The company will post box scores, standings, and reports on their website, www.3do.com.

Nintendo announced that Metroid Prime and Metroid Fusion would feature GCN-GBA Connectivity at yesterday's Gamers' Summit in San Francisco. No word yet on how the two games will interact.

The Closing of Camp Hyrule 2002 [ Camp Hyrule ]
As the sun set on Camp Hyrule 2002, Cabin 3 was announced this year's winners with a whopping 602 points. Cabin 10 got second with 535 points. Cabin 7 got third with 476 points. Live Music at E3 2003 [ Game Informer ]

GameStop Announces 2nd Quarter Results [ Yahoo Finance! ]
GameStop announced that their sales increased 32.6% to $274.3 million from this time last year with $206.8 Million. Much of this is because the company opened up 100 new stores in the first fiscal quarter, and also due to the continueing strength of the video game industry.

Ikaruga to Come to GameCube [ IGNcube ]
Occording to IGNcube, Ikaruga, an arcade style top-down shooter, has been announced by Infogrames. The title was originally made for Sega's Naomi Arcade board and has been announced to be released on the Dreamcast in Japan later this year. The GameCube version will feature several improvements over the Dreamcast and Arcade version and will be released early next year.

Super Monkey Ball On Cell Phones [ Yahoo! Finance ]
Sega will be releasing a version of Super Monkey Ball for Spring PCS cellular phones. A five level demo will be available for free on compatible phones, the full version 15 level game will be available for $3.99 on www.sprintpcs.com. More Sega games will be released for Sprint PCS phones after Monkey Ball's release.

Star Fox Adventures and Super Mario Sunshine Playable
The new demos for GameCube kiosks are in, and with them are playable versions of Mario and Fox. You can also watch a 2 minute movie of Metroid Prime. As far as we can see, the Star Fox demo is the same as the one in E3, but the Mario Sunshine demo is the "final" US version. Only noticeable difference is that the screen says "SHINE!" instead of "SHINE GET!" when you get a shine.

Gaming at the IMAX? [ CNET News ]
The Tech Museum of Innovation in San Jose, California is hosting a gaming contest using their IMAX theater. The Maxgames contest will feature games from all three consoles, including Halo, Tony Hawk's Pro Skator, and Gran Tourismo. Registration is $25 to play games for all ages, and $30 to play mature games.

Winners of SHiNE Contest Announced [ Yahoo! Finance ]
The five winners of the "Nintendo and Mario Make My Community SHiNE" contest have been announced. Each winner submitted a design for a mural that will be put up in their neighborhood. The murals will be unveiled in each of the winner's cities throughout the month of August.

One of the Makers of Dragon Quest to Develop for the GameCube [ N-Philes ]
One of the lead programmers for the Dragon Quest series, Manabu Yamana, announced that he will be working for the new developer, Genius Sonority. They plan on making GameCube and Game Boy Advance RPGs, but no word on what those will be.

Animal Leader Announced for US Release [ N-Philes ]
Animal Leader, a game in which you raise an animal and try to evolve it into one of 100 different creatures, has been announced for a US release under the title Cubivore. To evolve your creature you have to eat other creatures and find items to give it more powerful traits. You also must make sure it passes it's best traits onto it's offspring. Cubivore will be released this November.

Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse Announced [ Yahoo! Finance ]
3DO has announced that they are teaming up with comic book artist Simon Bisley to bring Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse to PC, PS2, GCN, and XBox. The game, which will star the voice actors Tim Curry, Lance Henriksen, and Traci Lords, is about the apocalypse. Along with professional voice acting, the game will also include incredible gore effects, a wide range of weaponry, mature content including brief nudity, and combat fights choreographed by the people who did that Matrix.
