I have never played a Nintendo 64 Zelda. Yeah, sucks to be me, huh? So when I ordered Wind Waker, I got the special preorder deal that includes Zelda: Ocarina of Time and Zelda: Master Quest. Previously, the only Zelda games I played were the original for the NES and Link to the Past, for SNES. I was ready to try Link's first venture into 3D. These are my thoughts on what many have called the best Zelda of all time.
There isn't really much difference between the two games. The only difference is that Master Quest has more difficult puzzles to solve and tougher enemies. So for now on, I'll be talking about both games as one. The game's opening is pretty cool: Link riding Epona around. The opening to the game, however, is even cooler. Nintendo really upped the resolution to the games, so now the games look much clearer than the muddy 64 graphics would allow. The sound is excellent. I love every tune I've heard so far, and I'm sure there will be more as my adventure continues. I won't spoil the story for anyone else that hasn't played the game (the 10 or so of you, maybe) but it's pretty good and is told with some pretty awesome cinemas.
So far, I've only gotten up to Zelda's castle. I'm sure I'm still in the very beginning of the game, so I won't have a full review for a while. Also, there are some videos along with the two games. They are videos of F-Zero, Metroid Prime, 1080: Avalanche, Wario World, The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker, LOZ: Link to the Past, and Metroid Prime. Be sure to check those out. I'll have the review for both games sooner or later. Sooner, I hope.
