Hello, Hello. Are you out there? Welcome, once more, everyone, to another episode of Open Mic Night. Thusly, the response has been a positive one and we are all very glad to keep working on this series.
Generally, we try to focus on topics which have cropped up in the course of the week or two between recordings. This week, however, went a little differently. We stuck to our tried-and-true method of picking a topic and running with it from the week's news, but this time, we really allowed ourselves to get tangential in the subjects.
The primary topics for the week were Metroid, WiiWare, Manhunt 2 (again) and a few others, and as we began on Manhunt 2, the disucssion quickly turned to the ESRB and what a fractured system it is.
I would like to think that we raised some very good points about the ESRB, especially in relation to the MPAA and the way in which films and games are evaluated in the UK.
Additionally, we engaged in discussion in yet another timeless game debate - the role of parents and their involvement in what their children are playing, in relation to the ESRB's rating system.
We hope you all enjoy the show. Please, by all means, feel free to send any feedback - good, bad, or indifferent - to Kevin McGinnis or Carl DeNovio.
