I first became involved in this sordid affair when I noticed my friend, Kevin McGinnis, putting a web address on an advertising poster for a game tournament we, and others, were hosting at our school. I asked him what the address was for, my annoyance communicated by liberal use of profanity.
Kevin then told me about GCRevolution. I nodded, happy my friend had a hobby, and went back to shilling tickets. Over the months, Kevin would tell me of developments at GCRev. I listened, if for nothing else that it provided good story fodder in a town where little happened of interest. I always held this as a small podunk site that was doomed to obscurity, then collapse before year's end. I had experience with the type, having started two sites (along with Kevin and another friend) that lived such lives. The layout looked very professional, the content was organized and everywhere. When Kevin told me these folk were looking for a writer, I jumped at the chance. Some audition pieces and forebodings of a Yoshi attack later, I was on staff.
