My involvement with this site humbly began back in the days of GC Revolution, or more accurately, the GCRev chat room. As a chat regular toward the end of that endeavor's lifetime, I found that I rather liked most of the staff, and at the time my own Tripod site was becoming a huge pain in the ass to manage. I was looking for a good site to write for, but before I could submit my application, certain issues started cropping up that were, at the very least, rather discouraging. At that point, Joe "Nytehawk" Whitman informed me that he and a friend were planning to put together a site tentatively titled "Gamer's Paradise." Perhaps because GCRev was undergoing too many managment difficulties, perhaps because Joe and I had been talking for quite some time before then, I agreed to join the staff and began writing my first articles, along with Vesna Savic, our only other staff member.
Not too long after joining Gamer's Paradise, it became apparent that the man commissioned to design the site was horrible at site design, and we had several articles, but nowhere worth putting them. Noticing that the staff members of GCRev I harbored a certain amount of respect for had formed yet another site attempt, Joe proprosed that we three from Gamer's Paradise should merge with Cubefreaks. The merger was completed before either Vesna or myself could really say one way or the other, but as long as we were that much closer to having an actual website, I didn't particularly care much about who we made alliances with. Obviously, Cubefreaks never quite got off the ground, and so some more ambitious staffers held a secret meeting, from which sprang the Café we know today. After several staff shuffles, I eventually was given the title of Senior Editor, and I honestly can't say in retrospect that I would change the path that got me here one bit.
